Pet friendly hotel with free parking but limited spaces. The room was basic, the room we stayed in had a street light outside, which the blind didn't do much to keep that out all night. The bed was very firm which wasn't our preference may suit others. The shower was low pressure and took a while to get to temperature. If you just want a bed for the night it's serviceable but wouldn't personally stay more than one night.

Can not fault this hotel rooms very comfortable bathroom and all amenities in the room very good apart from the light shade didn’t let much light out but overall really good perfect location for bars and restaurants near by , breakfast was amazing 10/10 hope to return soon

The staff were really friendly during our stay, the breakfast was fantastic and service was great. We were so disappointed to discover on the last day that there was another side to the breakfast menu which we hadn't turned over! We will have to return and sample the breakfast pancakes! :) Thanks for a great, comfortable and friendly stay.

Parking right outside the front door. Room was adequate, clean with tea coffee amenties. Breakfast was one of the best i have had - cooked fresh to order. Staff polite and helpful.

Nice exterior, with parking for residents. Rushed ‘check in’ at the bar meant I was charged in full despite already paying a deposit. Thanks to Iain for organising the refund. Hall and stairs to rooms looked unclean. Handrails were sticky to touch, repairs to walls were dreadful. Stair carpet needs cleaned. Room 10 was comfortable and was a good size. Bed was clean and comfortable. Towels were clean and fresh. However the bathroom was well below standard, the flooring was wrinkled in various areas of the bathroom and definitely a trip hazard. The shower was just about functioning and alternating between hot and cold water with very little pressure. Other than the window ledge there was nowhere to keep toiletries and the blind had to be kept down at all times as we were overlooked. Disappointing considering the £180 a night premium room charge. Breakfast was enjoyable. Good varied menu. Staff were generally pleasant. Didn’t see any staff at check out as they were busy with breakfast meaning we just left our room key on the bar. Overall this was an ok stay but it could have been a lot better. Disappointing sadly.

Such a lovely place to rest our head for the evening. Walking distance to the train station where we met our tour guide for the tour of Hilltop (Beatrix Potter’s house). The breakfast was absolutely delish! Staff was so friendly! Our room was spacious and so very clean. Also, our bed was quite comfortable. My daughter and I loved this place.
