Sublime canapes

Beautiful house,very clean and I saw them cleaning the room after we left and it was very thorough. Food superb and substantial with canapes and sorbet mouth cleansers we could not finish a substantial main course and no room for desert. Service friendly.

Disappointing return

Came back to this hotel after a wonderful stay many years ago. It is now clearly set up as a wedding venue and midweek guests seem to receive a dumbed down service. Restaurant was shut, staff running on skeleton, didn’t light fire in the lounge and breakfast ingredients are very average quality. On our previous stay nothing was too much trouble, lovely fire and superb drinks trolley with premium spirits. Now just a bar with standard stuff. Couldn’t fault the staff who were friendly and helpful but overall this hotel has dropped significantly in quality.
