However, the hotel is old and I paid a lot for a room with blinds that didn’t go up (so couldn’t see the view) and lots of marks on walls and dust on vents etc. It was clean, but felt a little old and slightly dated for the money I was paying.

View from the hotel room was AMAZING. Hotel grounds are well maintained. With that being said. The rooms are not clean at all, seems like nobody wiped down the surfaces in WEEKS. Dust was on everything, floors were not swept and the bed was NOT made properly. But other than that, the location was amazing and gives me a good idea of why the hotel stays so busy.

People talking in neighboring room sound like they are in our room. Noise that sounds like running water or flushing toilets echo all night through the HVAC vents.

The location is fantastic. On the river with a fantastic view of the Battleship North Carolina. Walking distance to shops, attractions and restaurants. The room was clean but I never had my room cleaned although I left most days and didn't come back until the end of the day. That was annoying. I had breakfast included and it was hit or miss. I ordered avocado toast and got untoasted bread with a brown avocado spread and undercooked eggs. I had an omelet that was oily. But some of the food was good. Staff was helpful and tried to address the issues. They were very professional.
