Incredible views and space. Lovely staff. Wilderness is stunning, beach beautiful and loads of restaurant choices a few minutes walk away- the stairs are a lot and steep hill up to accommodation but views are worth it every time!

150 Stufen - Stairway to Heaven

Wir hatten das Chalet #5 gemietet. Viel Platz, gute Ausstattung, schöne Terrasse mit traumhaften Blick auf das Meer. Der Weber-Grill war blitz-blank sauber, die Küche mit allem ausgestattet, was man im Urlaub braucht. Der tägliche Zimmerservice war sehr aufmerksam. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt und wir können das Chalet nur weiterempfehlen. Angeblich haben die einzelnen Chalets unterschiedliche Besitzer und sind unterschiedlich ausgestattet - Nummer 5 war auf jeden Fall sehr schön. Chalet 3 gehört dem gleichen Besitzer und hat ein Schlafzimmer mehr.

Heavenly Place

The place is amazing with all of the comforts one could possibly want. The staff are also amazing and went out of their way to help in every possible way. The location is also extremely convenient with wonderful views. I highly recommend Boardwalk Lodge - self-catering and will definitely be coming to stay again.

In general nice lodge with beautiful view. Some of the rooms are totally in the shadow all day long, so in winter times it can get fresh there. Would be nice, if also the hot chocolate was included in breakfast.

Als wir nachmittags in die Unterkunft kamen, mussten wir trotz Klingeln an der Rezeption fast eine halbe Stunden warten, bis ein Mitarbeiter kam. Die Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig: Auf der Waschbeckenarmatur waren noch viele Barthaarstoppel von dem Vorgänger, die Fenster waren dreckig und im Zimmer müffelte es. Allgemein war das Zimmer nicht sehr sauber. Die Badezimmertür ließ sich nicht schwer schließen, da entweder die Tür aufgequollen war oder schief im Rahmen hing. In unserem merhwöchigen Südafrika-Aufenthalt war die Boardwalk Lodge die schlechteste und zugleich teuerste Unterkunft.

Hotel mit Schimmel in den Zimmern

Der Aufenthalt hat bei uns nur eine Nacht angedauert (für 2 Nächte gebucht) dann sind wir schnellstmöglich von dort weg in eine neue Lodge. Die Zimmer haben Schimmel, es roch muffig und die Betten waren klamm. Mehr als enttäuschend! Nicht zu empfehlen.

Ansprechend und erholsam in der herrlichen Natur

Man hat einen genialen Blick auf die Küste. Es ist schön in den Berg gebaut und die Natur wurde integriert. Das Personal ist sehr hilfreich und nett. In den Betten könnte man erholsam schlafen und das Meeresrauschen trug zu einem guten Schlaf bei. Weniger schön ist die Tatsache, daß das WLAN nicht der Lodge gehört, sondern der Stadt Wilderness. Das hat extreme Schwankungen zufolge und erlaubt bis zu 250 MB pro Tag. Leider steht das nur an einem Schild im Zimmer und vorher gibt es keinen Hinweis dazu. Die Minibar ist gut bestückt und das Frühstück ist okay. Man kann sich jeweils das Ei wünschen wie man es mag und auch die Beilagen.

Tolles Hotel mit großem ABER

Eine schöne Nacht im Hotel, die Lage ist einzigartig, die Aussicht auf's Meer super. Das Personal super freundlich, Frühstück hat alles, was man braucht um in den Tag zu starten. Restaurants sind im Ort locker zu Fuß erreichbar. Doch nun das ABER... 4 Sterne möchte man haben. Das Badezimmer: Fliesen im Boden defekt, Duschkabine schließt nicht richtig, so ist nach dem Duschen alles feucht im Bad. Außerdem schon ziemlich angegammelt an sämtlichen Dichtungen. Im Wohnraum 2 Fenster defekt, beide lassen sich nicht mehr schließen, bei einem fehlt sogar der Griff.
