Wonderful stay in Scarbados at this friendly, funky and brilliantly sited hotel.
The view from our room was straight across to the Abbey.
Very enjoyable continental breakfast and lovely deep roll top bath.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to avoid dull corporate hotels.
Our only slight negative was the fact it was not as comfortable as our own bed and it was very warm for sleeping despite the fan provided.
Quirky but intersting decor. Lovely friendly staff and pooch!
Fabulous outlook from the front of the property.
Some nice touches like delivering breakfast to your door which had a good selection of breakfast items. Also, exquisite selection of toileteries.
Beautiful hotel, lots of character and really friendly staff. We stayed in La Rosa room and enjoyed a delicious cocktail in the lounge before going out to explore Whitby. Thoroughly recommend!
La Rosa turned out to be the most unusual hotel we've ever stayed in. The location is excellent, the ground floor tea rooms barely used but tables perfect for board games and jigsaw puzzles. Stairs quite a lot so do check if you have mobility issues. Rooms what can I say very atmospheric and quirky so check the photos carefully so you know what you are signing up for. No TV hallelujah. No shower but hey we have one at home whereas we don't have an old fashioned deep bath so what an experience. Staff were friendly, as was the elderly dog who was clearly in overall charge.
Definitely a holiday to remember.
What an amazing little gem of a hotel.
So quirky with its wonderful themed rooms.
We stayed in the Saloon which was based on a room in a an old western saloon. The ensuite had the most amazing stand alone roll top bath which could have fitted 2 without any problem.
There is a lounge with a small bar where you can get the most incredible choice of cocktails that I have ever seen. There are also wines beers and spirits available.
This was very cozy and comfortable and we finished off our evenings there each night of our stay.
The view from the hotel which is situated at the top of the cliffs overlooking both the harbour and Whitby Abbey in the distance is beautiful.
We loved our stay here! Each room is so unique - I promise you'll never stay in a place quite like it! The staff are incredibly nice, especially the dog greeter, John!
Fantastic hotel! Gorgeous and unusual rooms, so many weird and wonderful trinkets all over the hotel, we loved our stay! Rob was very friendly too - great welcome and hosting.
This hotel is really special. Great Victorian ambiance. Amazing view of the abbey and bay. Do not expect TV but wifi is good. Loved the all antique decor.
The rooms and bar area are quirky and full of character. The view of Whitby and the abbey from the room was spectacular. John the reception / bar staff was brilliant throughout, and was always friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning!
Beautiful hotel. Looks amazing. Very friendly and very welcoming. My room was amazing also. Loved my stay and would definitely go back again and definitely recommend staying there
The view from our room was stunning! The staff were lovely and had a really homely vibe. A quirky cocktail room which I loved!

Fabulous quirky hotel
Quirky hotel where each room is themed. Decorated with lots of recycled vintage items. The room and en-suite were a good size. Our room had a view of the beach and Abbey. Orange juice delivered to our room each morning. Fabulous location- walking distance of the harbour etc.
Not your typical hotel - don’t expect cable TV and a jacuzzi. This hotel is English eccentric and unique. A museum of curiosities, a superb location with Abbey and sea views - absolutely delightful.
