Vacations Close To Western Pennsylvania Model Railroad Museum

My first room was in pieces; HVAC materials and instructions strewn throughout the room. Front desk staff were helpful in relocating me. There was a great deal of renovation being done in the hotel with torn up carpets and industrial fans being used to dry floors. I received an email with a statement charging me for parking which I hadn’t been made aware of. I requested an extension of two hours for parking but was told the most I could have was an hour as parking was for arriving guests. It was 10:30am and the parking lot was practically empty. The hotel location was very convenient for the Braves game and other Pittsburgh attractions. The rooms were clean but housekeeping services were only offered every other day,

As a hotel property that has been converted from a YMCA, it’s a bit quirky. First, there are very few staff on site as the hotel promotes itself as being highly automated. That meant that one of party didn’t have a working tv that was fixed upon her request. Another of our party had burned out light bulbs that also went unreplaced. The furniture in our rooms was shabby. Room cleaning service was an added cost when you requested the bed to be made, fresh towels, etc. One would expect that with few staff and services that the price would reflect those cost savings. It didn’t.

We really enjoyed our stay! We were in Pittsburgh for a Pitt Volleyball game & campus tour. This was the perfect home base for our trip. The hotel had such a cool vibe with tons of character & a little bit of history throughout, which made it feel completely different from your typical hotel. Everything was clean & comfortable, the location was convenient for our plans, & we loved coming back to such a unique atmosphere after a day in Oakland. We’d definitely stay here again for another Pitt Volleyball weekend! 💙💛🏐
