We were late arriving, and I should not have assumed there would be someone at the check-in desk all night. He was closing up right when we got. Fortunately we got our key. But had we been delayed another 30 minutes, not sure how we would have checked in. Parking was terrible. No spaces left, so we had park behind building in an unlit paved lot. Shower was ok and beds were comfortable. Would definitely pick someplace else to stay.

Fortunately, the room itself was satisfactorily clean and comfortable. The room's heater/air conditioning unit functioned OK, but made strange and disconcerting sounds for several seconds after each on/off cycle. The stairwell guests have to climb in the corner of the annex to get up to the 2nd floor was littered with pieces of waste paper and other crud that was not picked up or cleaned up even slightly during our 3 night stay. The carpet in that stairwell, and on the stairs, and in the hallway up on the second floor were both filthy, and looked as if they had not been vacuumed in months, much less ever cleaned. The location was fairly convenient, within a few blocks of shops and restaurants, and just across the street and down the block from the lowest priced gas station in town. The front desk staff were relatively unhelpful when we inquired as to restaurants in town, coming up with the name of only one restaurant. When I reported the dirty condition of the carpet in the stairwell, stairs, and hallway, the clerk told me she would pass the information on to the manager.
