The bed wasn’t great. Had a ‘mattress topper’ that constantly slipped during the night because it seemed to be too small for the bed, which was annoying. On 2nd night I wanted to remove it and revealed a very stained mattress underneath. Everything else was ok. If I’d booked a more budget friendly place I’d have been perfectly ok with it, but we paid a lot to stay here for a bit of a treat so it felt a bit disappointing that the room was so average. Staff were fantastic and the bar etc was super.

Hotel was lovely and we had a really great stay. It appears to have had a renovation recently (stayed Jan 2026) and the room was really well equipped, comfortable and clean. Staff in the main hotel were excellent. The service at breakfast in the GPO cafe was a bit manic and disorganised, and the layout feeling a bit cramped contributed to that feeling of chaos at peak breakfast time with customers and staff all trying to move around.
