“Quite dated in decor and furnishings, but all in keeping with the look and feel of an older country residence. Every interaction was a helpful, friendly one. Would return if I have reason to stay in the area again”

“The property is in need of a refurb , the front is ok but our room had shredded curtains , the toilet took ages to refill so it could not be used quickly , as we had a family room it was not very useful we told the front desk who said she would check and never came back t us so we asked after dinner and was told it was fine however the problem was still there . We had dinner at the salt restaurant and the lamb still had the string in it which was not good and had to send of back , they did...

“Selected Wheatsheaf based on location travelling from Scotland to South Coast. We're told at reception that the room was up 2 flight of stairs but it would be worth it, Walking into room 12 our breath was taken away, it was definitely worth the climb. Dinner that evening and breakfast next morning we're excellent. Will definitely be back. Jim and Lorna”

“Amazing setting and beautiful grounds Great place for wedding celebrations However the rooms were rather small with limited facilities for the price paid. Breakfast times restricted to 8-10 , would extend to accommodate guests’needs. Also a bit disappointing you had to pay a supplement to have half of the items on the menu”
