This was a charming little hotel that has been renovated. Rooms were very clean and smelled clean. Staff were very friendly had a simple but delicious breakfast available.

The property was surprisingly high quality; and the staff was above-and-beyond pleasant, kind and helpful. It was a full night, and parking was a tad tricky but in the end not that bad. Really it's the staff that will have me coming back to this location!

Perfect location, immediately off the highway. Clean, comfy room. Decent amenities. Friendly staff. Only complaint is that the breakfast options were slim,at best. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them? Absolutely!

We stayed at The Elmwood only very briefly, en route to Cape Breton, but were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfortable bed and quiet surroundings. Due to traffic delays we arrived well after their usual office hours (7a-7p) but management had arranged to have a clerk on the desk to greet us -- we very much appreciated that above-and-beyond service.

Biggest room ever

Nicely updated large sized room. Liked that the sink area was outside bathroom. Parking was right outside to room. Coffee was wonderful and they even had decaf!!
