"Older hotel starting to show some wear"
I don't want to make this an overwhelmingly negative review. My experience was adequate at the Omni Shoreham, but I wouldn't put it any higher up on the scale. I am not someone who relies on staff or usually has many problems so they were okay for the most part, but some of the furniture in our room wasn't cleaned well. Also, there are spots in the room ceiling where there were cracks or places with possible water damage and the room did have a moldy smell at times. The biggest problem we had was that one of the elevators broke, causing us for a day and a half to pretty much stop on every one of the 8 floors as we went both up and down the elevator to our room. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem using stairs, but we were staying on the seventh floor and after walking 10 miles around town all day we didn't feel like walking 7 flights to our room.

"Fabulous stay in Dupont!"
My husband and I stayed at the Kimpton Palomar in Washington, DC for a long weekend. We chose this hotel based on the amazing reviews we read on Expedia and TripAdvisor and because it had a pool (although we didn’t end up using it, it was an ideal option to have with the heat wave we experienced!). The location is ideal – you can walk pretty much everywhere, from Georgetown to the White House and National Mall (we did all of the above and with ease!). The hotel itself was fabulous. Our room was HUGE and well appointed. The bedding was soft and the toiletries smelled amazing (they were Atelier Bloem and very nice!). The in-house restaurant, Urbana, was lovely and the happy hour was super well priced, delicious and convenient. The hotel also has complimentary coffee and tea every morning from 6-10am and a complimentary wine happy hour from 5-6pm every evening! Definitely a huge bonus! I mentioned we did not use the pool but saw it from the gym at it had plenty of space for guests to relax and unwind. The Fitness Center was great – super clean with great machines and accessories, towels, water and fresh fruit. Also, we do not have a pet but saw lots of dogs as the hotel is pet friendly! Another amenity we noticed but didn’t (and should have!) taken advantage of was the bicycle rentals. What a great way to get around town! Lastly, everyone we interacted with at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Thank you, Kimpton Palomar DC, for a wonderful stay. Will will certainly be back!

"Mid range Washington Hotel"
Our room was spacious, well furnished and comfortable. The staff were all friendly. The price was reasonable - neither cheap nor expensive. There was, however, one disappointment: the wifi signal in the hotel was very poor; i have stayed in hostels with better signals. When we could get a signal (which involved sitting on the floor in the far corner of our room) the internet was painfully slow. For the amount we paid we would have expected fully functioning wifi to be included with not extra charge required to upgrade to a decent signal and speed.

"Stayed many times"
I always enjoyed staying in the old historic part of the hotel. The new addition that was added is beautiful and modern. Have not had a room in the historic part since all the renovations but can attest that the new rooms are fantastic. A convenient three block walk to the Mt.
