We had a great 3 night stay Very friendly staff and just a great location I would highly recommend this place Also some great local restaurants and coffee places as well Washburn is a forgotten stop on the way to Bayfield and it needs more people to realize it’s got great spots as well

Washburn Inn is nice enough, well-maintained and very clean. However, there is no elevator to the second floor, and while the room is very pleasant it is not luxurious. There was a night stand and reading light on only one side of the bed. We felt that at over $280 per night, this was not a good value. It was in line with similar rooms in the region for more like $160 to $200.

This hotel is just a landing spot to sleep with comfortable beds, not super obnoxious air conditioners, and roomy rooms enough space to layout suit cases and coolers. There is not much for amenities but we were well aware when booking the hotel, no pool, breakfast or common space area. Access to the lake was a bonus. My boys enjoyed fishing off the dock every night and morning. The hotel is quiet and there is a nice sitting place outside.

Parking was easy and plentiful. There is a restaurant and bar across the parking lot. Not much else in Washburn. The room was good. The toilet and shower are in a small bathroom. The bathroom sink is across from the toilet room. Staff was helpful

The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially when someone was knocking on my door at 10 at night and the peepholes were plugged up. I called the front desk and they went to look and see what was going on. I didn’t get a response from them, but it stopped. Great little place to stay!

Nice place to stay. Beautiful views of the lake. Only downside was our room door that would not latch properly unless you really slammed the door shut. Even then it would not latch all the way. A security concern. Did not sleep well as a result. Definitely needs to be fixed.

Pluses: The clerk at check-in was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and the rest of the hotel too. Location by Lake Superior is very nice. Negatives: The rate we paid for one night through Expedia was what one would expect to pay for a five-star hotel, not a two-star. There was an event going on at a nearby venue so I assume the price was jacked up for that. Bed comfort was marginal. There was no breakfast or any snacks, in spite of the high price.

We noticed upon arrival there was gravel and weeds around the hotel. The hotel itself looked average. Once we were in the hotel, we noticed it was cramped for space. The reception area was very small and there was no public restroom in the hotel. There were two receptionists we dealt with and they were very nice. The biggest problem we had to deal with was climbing the stairs with our luggage (we’re 79 years old and have back problems). There was no elevator…ugh! Our room was small but clean and the beds were comfortable. But $249 was too much to pay for a night.
