We had the best time at this resort! The views of Lake Wawasee are absolutely beautiful—especially at sunset. It’s such a peaceful and scenic place to unwind. The food was seriously amazing. Every meal we had was delicious, and you can tell they put real care into the menu. Great variety and super fresh. The tiki bar was one of our favorite hangout spots—great drinks, fun vibe, and right on the water. Perfect for kicking back in the evenings. Overall, it’s just a great place to relax, eat well, and enjoy the lake. We’re already talking about coming back next summer!

Hotels.com failed

It was an awesome trip with excellent customer service. My issue was with Hotels.com and not having me registered to stay at the hotel. Luckily they had available rooms.

The beach is small and tracks onto the sidewalk. Could have used more chairs along the waterfront and some in our near the large gazebo on the front lawn. It's a good looking building and the indoor decor is nice. I liked the pictures of the olden days in the corridor to the restaurant.

Good, not great.

Hotel was ok...not great. Service was pretty good. There were a couple issues with our room (light in the bathroom and drain) and only one of the two was fixed. Not too many amenities, but that's to be expected with a small town hotel on the lake. Probably will go Airbnb next time.

I chose to stay here because I had heard good things about the resort and my wife and I were looking for a close getaway. My check-in and checkout were smooth. The desk staff were always present, friendly and helpful. The public areas of the property were mostly in good condition, but our room clearly was falling into disrepair. The other negative was that on our way to breakfast in the morning there were construction guys swapping out the light fixtures so they had there tools all across the steps leading down to the front desk. I was disappointed in the condition of the bathroom. The toilet was left dirty even after housekeeping 'cleaned'. The inside door frame paint was peeling

Oakwood Resort offered a peaceful and relaxing stay, made even more special by the beautiful view of the lake right from our room. The only aspect that felt out of place was the refrigerator—it stood openly in the room and would have looked more cohesive tucked into a cabinet that matched the furnishings.

We were pretty comfortable. Black out shades would be good as a lot of light came into our room from the hallway around the corner leading to the restaurant. We were told the room would be cleaned every day, not a big deal to us, but it wasn’t although we were gone all afternoon both days with no sign on door. The breakfast was very good. Enjoyed the lakefront setting.
