Great Location!!

This hostel is located right across the street from the blackwater rafting company who we booked our adventure tour of the glow worm caves with. The hostel is near quiet farm property. We booked a room that had a private bathroom. It was clean and perfect for our stay. The main room and kitchen was welcoming with a fire going keeping the hostel comfortable. The beds are on the firmer side but besides that we had a comfortable stay and would highly recommend. This location was fantastic for exploring the area. The room itself was clean and the staff friendly!

Clean comfortable private room

We stayed one night in a private double room. Bed was comfortable, with clean bed linens and towels provided. Bathrooms were typical hostel-style, with multiple showers and toilets. Everything was clean, though the hostel itself was older so obvious wear-and-tear was visible (not an issue!). Large kitchen facility, which we did not use. Outdoor pool as well. Wifi was spotty, probably due to number of users.

Great selection of facilities but a little rundown. Mattress was in need of replacement as could feel wooden slats. Generally good setup.

Property was fantastic in regards to atmosphere, amenities as well as the most friendly staff I've come across yet! The host even folded my clothes after I put them in for washing! 10/10 if you're going to Waitomo stay here. Also they have a resident dog which was very cute!
