  • The Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, Texas is a terrific zoo! The zoo has a great range of animals and exhibits and the grounds are well kept and spacious. There's lots of shade to keep you somewhat cool during those hot Texan summer months if you visit during that time frame. The animal enclosures are nice, and can really give you great views of the animals themselves if you are a bit patient. This also makes for great photo views, as shown here with this photo of an approaching jaguar. Food and snack prices are also very reasonable, as are prices for souvenirs. This zoo makes for a great day out for the family.

I internet is noted as basic but it worked will for everything I needed. The rooms are older than some of the hotels nearby but it worked for me. The AC/heat unit worked well. I had no issues with anything in the room. There was someone working the front desk 7/24 which I looked for since I was arriving around 1am. The breakfast was as noted, with toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffle maker that worked. juice, yoghurt, etc. The dining area was clean at all times, just as pictured. The location in Bellmead worked well for what I needed and it was easy getting around using the interstate frontage roads. I have no issues with this hotel and will be using this again on my next waco visit. I stayed there 8 nights. I stayed on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet. I did not hear any noise from the interstate and I did not hear anything from any other visitors that were on that floor.

My room was good and clean and the bed & pillows were comfortable. It was quiet too, even with the highway close by. But the rest of the hotel needs cleaning and updating. The fitness center had dead crickets in it and the stairwells looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in months. Breakfast had eggs, sausage & biscuits and the staff were nice.
