Hale Ohu is an adults-only B&B that is close to the entrance for Volcanoes NP. We looked for something that was convenient and came across this place on Expedia. The hosts provided a detailed binder as well as daily breakfast in our fridge. Filtered water was provided, and the shower was heated through a tankless system. It’s quite beautiful and historic, the property. A rainforest walk is on site, and driving into the property was its own experience. There is no AC, but there’s a fan. It was damp outside, but there is a dehumidifier in the room. You really do feel you’re residing in nature when you stay here. WiFi was fast, and I think overall that this is a good option if you’re not traveling with children. There are three rooms on the property. Final day, we chatted with the co-owner. She was friendly.

No frills bed and breakfast. This is the type of place that you book for serenity and for the quiet atmosphere which was perfect for our trip. It is worth noting that you need to make arrangements to get your access code ahead of time if you think you will have delays in your travel. However this process was easy to do. The property is close to volcano national park and also has an enjoyable rainforest environment as well.

Room is comfortable and efficient. A yummy Breakfast is left in fridge the day before, which makes for a seamless start to your day. The hosts have provided everything that you might need for your Volcanos Natl Park visit. The park and the little town of Volcano are very close by. I would not hesitate to return to this lush little oasis.

Lovely grounds.plenty continental breakfast left in refrigerator so you can eat early. Room size fine. Could use slightly more comfortable chairs for collapsing after park. Also room for longer breakfast and end tables. All those electronics and planning maps/books/glasses have to rest somewhere...plenty resturants arround
