Reasonably priced, clean place to sleep

Hotel office staff is very courteous and professional. The ‘beach’ associated with the hotel is less than 50 ft along the waterfront and 30 ft wide at low tide, nearly non existent at high tide. Restaurant is not controlled by the hotel, the restaurant frequently had item unavailable that were on the menu. However, what the did have was reasonably priced and very good.

Great place to relax!

We stayed one night after a week long sail trip and it was a great place to relax and recover before our flight the next day. Very reasonably priced and all of the staff were very helpful.

Great service and budget location on the water

My stay was fantastic! This is a budget hotel, so yes, there are a few scratches here and there. But it is right on the water with incredible views, very reasonably priced, great on premise restaurant and bar, with lots of smoothies! And everyone was so so friendly and accommodating! They allowed me to have an early check in (11am) and a late checkout (4pm) without me even asking which REALLY helped my schedule and I am extremely thankful. They also connected me several times with taxi drivers to take me around the island which was great since I didn’t rent a car. All in all, I would be thrilled to stay here again!

A lovely hotel that really looks after you

We stayed at the Mariners as we had to move from Bequia due to the upcoming hurricane Beryl. I’m so glad we chose Mariners. It was slightly sheltered from the hurricane , which dissipated several of the local Islands and left much of St Vincent without power. Mariners had a generator, so we retained all power and a/c. This made our lives so much more comfortable. And the staff were absolutely amazing, and so nice. We really couldn’t have been in a better place, especially as our flights were cancelled for a week and we ended up spending 2 weeks at Mariners. They looked after us so well, thank you

We loved the view from our room but the service at the restaurant was unacceptably slow. We also did not like the fact that the grounds were regularly used by noisy people who were not staying at the hotel. It was not a relaxing experience.

Could be a lot better

What a view and setting, wonderful looking over to Young Island. Breakfast was lovely in such a setting. Rooms need updating but did have a fridge and kettle. The smell of drains at times from the bathroom was not nice, no doubt due to all the rains. Evening meal was not the best experience, pork chops do not need to be grilled twice and disagreement over what was included in the Bed and Breakfast on checking out left a bad taste in the mouth. Overall - could do a lot better.

Good room size that overlooked the beach. Let down by room decor being old and dated. Shower was not powerful probably because the showerhead holes needed unblocking. My kettle lid was visibly broken but I had to report it. Many times restaurant was out of certain food items for days. Only one member of staff made coffee the right way from the machine, with frothy milk without me having to ask. Had to prompt others. Food took long to arrive a few times, probably due to limited staff. Hotel has a lot of potential but is in need of refurbishment. Looked at other reviews and people have been saying the same thing for years. There are 4 new rooms in a separate block with very nice modern decor. All rooms should have the same decor.

Mariners hotel is in a great location close to Kingstown, the beach and young island. The room my family stayed in had an amazing ocean view along with a balcony for breakfast overlooking the ocean and was very clean. The restaurant attached to the hotel called the verandah restaurant had amazing food. However, the service overall was terrible. During the 7 days my family stayed we waited 2-3 hours for breakfast, lunch and diner. There seems to be a selectiveness/favorism approach to who gets serviced. I sat for 2 hours while more than one waitress walked pass my family and didn’t even ask if we wanted to order. Additionally, there were people who just walked in and seemed to get there food before us that weren’t even guest at the hotel. This occurred on numerous occasions to the point where I had to make a complaint to the front desk. I was assured that a manager or supervisor wasn’t in and would contact me, sadly that never happened. I hope this improves if I ever come back to Saint Vincent.
