Small intimate one-room cabin that appeared a bit dated but undergoing renovation as evidenced by bare drywall on the ceiling in the bathroom. Not a bad experience, but aesthetically has room for improvement.

The uniqueness of the cottages were great and afforded more space than a typical hotel room. The shared wall was needs more sound proofing but other than that it was a great and neat place to stay.

The check-in process is a bother. They ask that you download an app and use that for communication regarding cottage number and door code. So, you go through all those steps and await check-in information that doesn't arrive via the app, but through email. The app is never used again since check-out is simply scanning a QR code on the back of your door. The app needs to be done away with. Vík Cottages are very cute and clean. They are small spaces with neighboring units attached. We had a small view of the sea, but mostly it was scenery of other buildings and the road. The walk to the main hotel for breakfast was a breeze, but we found both the eggs and the bacon to be undercooked. It was a disappointing buffet for the price. Not a stunning experience, but overall we slept well and enjoyed the space in the cottage.
