We stayed in Lisle Combe for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.
We sat outside in the evenings relaxing, watching and listening to the birds.
The only slightly negative comment is that the TV in the bedroom could be a little bigger.
We had a lovely few days in this historic house.
Nothing was too much for the owners and the room was so comfortable. We loved the artwork on display in all the rooms and also the old period furniture.
It all had a feeling of life some 100 years ago.
The gardens were extensive and so quiet. The slightly wild look added to the atmosphere of exploring a garden from bygone years that had been left to its own devices.
Would we return one day? Of course we would.
Lovely stay. Great location for the coastal path for walks. Beautiful house with stunning rooms. The shower wasn't great but it if an old house so you can't expect power showers.
A character property in a lovely setting with grounds extending to the coastal path. The owners were friendly and helpful and served an excellent breakfast. Be aware that it's a drive to the nearest pub or restaurant for your evening meal.

Lovely and peaceful
Lovely and quiet, but we found room old and un inviting lack of space
A very calm and peaceful location, spacious rooms in a historic setting next to the sea side. Both Ruth and Robert were very helpful and friendly. We got to plan our sightseeing better with all their advice. Will surely go back one day.
We only stayed for 2 nights but wished we had stayed for much longer!
The location is fantastic and the owners could not have been more friendly or helpful.
A place to relax, unwind and enjoy the stunning local scenery.
Would I want to go back - a resounding yes!
Lovely breakfast, considerate hosts and great trampoline for the kids.
The historical context was fascinating.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Pleasant family house but limiting in several ways
Information for future visitors:
Lovely old property.
WiFi only works in the hallway and breakfast room, where it is still slow.
Guests must exit their room each day by 1000hrs and breakfast stops at 1000hrs - as stated in the information folder. This isn’t great if you want a Sunday morning lie in.
No central heating, so not the warmest for a winter break.
Overall, an okay stay but we wouldn’t rush back because it just wasn’t what we expected or needed for our stay.
Lovely people and a great location to get away from it all. The interior of the house was magnificent with beautiful grounds. Breakfast was superb. Thoroughly recommended.
Absolutely loved this unique property, with history a-plenty. The location was great, the wild gardens, amazing. The bedroom was large and the bathroom cavernous. The wifi was limited to the downstairs, which is to be expected given the thickness of the walls and if anything enabled some needed downtime from social overloads!! Ruth and Robert made us feel at home and even allowed our son to feed the chickens in the morning. I am certain we will be back.
Ruth and Rob and excellent hosts, who make you feel very much at home in their delightful house. It felt very much like staying in an up market National Trust house. A great antidote to those generic business hotels all over the world. Thoroughly recommended.

Going Back in Time
If you like big old houses that have seen bygone times then this is the place for you. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms are large and spacious without central heating and double glazing but our hosts lit lovely log fires to keep us warm, a very different experience to your normal B & B.
We were only there for two nights, but we really enjoyed our stay. The house is fascinating, charming and ideally positioned for exploring the island. Our hosts were delightful, friendly and extremely helpful. We were greeted with tea and home-made cake on arrival and the breakfasts were excellent.
