Beautiful junior suite we felt we were staying in a castle bedroom. My daughter felt like a Princess. Beautiful gold headboard and beautiful walls. The view from the room was beautiful. It was Very clean We had all we needed. Close to everything all walking distance.

Not what I expected. Major complications with check in. A huge number of steep stairs to get to and from the room that I was not aware of when I booked; so challenging that if I had known about them, I would not have stayed there. At one point a staff member accused me of trespassing. Different staff members gave me different instructions about how to enter the building. Location was its strong point.

Truly Venetian

Staying at the Residenza gave us a complete Venetian experience. Our room had a murano chandelier, venetian furnitures, and red/gold colors. The room was well kept during our stay, breakfast was adequate especially with the cappuccino/ latte machine, and the location was close to the main attractions of Venice.

My experience at this hotel was extremely poor. The staff never came to meet me at reception I was calling and messaging them waiting for over TWO HOURS. Finally they answered me and told me to take a key. When I got to the room it all seems fine until I went into the bathroom and the absolute disgust I was met with was nauseating. I almost got sick because of the smell in there. It smelt like a mix of sulfur and rotten eggs and it wouldn’t go away even if i tried to air it out and let the window open. The reason I booked this hotel was so that I could feel clean for a night and just take a shower before I was leaving the next day. I ended up staying at a hostel and cut my stay short from there expecting to feel clean in this hotel for just a night. If i had stayed longer than a night I definitely would’ve messaged someone or met with reception to change rooms because of the odor.

I would not recommend this hotel at all. It is NOTHING like the images on Expedia. It is extremely run down, tired, dilapidated and in serious need of refurbishment. Firstly, the front entrance was not accessible as there were maintenance (building) works being carried out which was not disclosed when booking, resulting in having to walk around a few streets to the back entrance, which was not signposted at all and difficult to find! I asked for a room on the lowest floor possible as I have issues with my knees and back. The hotel confirmed by email, a room on the 1st flr. Upon arrival, the room was on the 2nd flr which was accessed by a ridiculous number of stairs! There were blood stains on one of the pillows and top sheet, along with some black stains on the bedspread and one of the hand towels, which resembled old dried blood. There was no hanging space for clothing, The room was very hot and stuffy - the air conditioning didn't work. There was no shelf or anywhere to put anything in the bathroom - the shower head would not sit upright in its holder, so it had to be held. There was a nail sticking out of the inside door frame of the room, which my partner cut his finger on. There was a two way plug adapter, with an extension lead plugged in draped across the floor for the kettle, with wires exposed and another lead draped across the radiator for a light! The view outside our window was a huge pile of building debris and rubbish
