This hotel is in the heart of activities in Venice, just a few steps from St. Mark’s square. Very convenient, with lots of shopping and dining options. The staff were very kind and helpful. We stayed in a standard double room, it was nice but a bit cozy. The location of the hotel is probably one of it's chief benefits, although beware that it is very close to some church bells. When they ring you will feel it.

Front desk staff is phenomenal!! Answered all of our questions and was always gracious. We ate twice at the second restaurant two doors to the left when exiting hotel it was recommended from staff - the food was very good - hotel is centrally located to all shopping, dining and tours - one note * the hotel is not near train station, make arrangements to take water bus or taxi and get off at Rialto Bridge and it’s a 5 min walk

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Montecarlo! The hotel is in a wonderful, central location close to Piazza San Marco. The staff was helpful, always ready to answer questions or give advice on local restaurants, things to do, etc. We had them arrange a water taxi for us to go to the airport, and it was an exceptionally smooth process. They even helped us transport our luggage to the water taxi. We never had breakfast or afternoon tea at the hotel, so I can't give an opinion on those. I would definitely stay at the Hotel Montecarlo again and recommend it to others.

Upstairs neighbors were extremely noisy every day during our stay. We called concierge every night so they could tell them to be quiet. It sounded like there was a gym above us. Not sure if they were wrestling, jumping, doing aerobics, etc. Staff was nice. Liked the 4-6 pm coffee and pastry time.
