Its located just in front of the beach. You can easily walk to Santa Monica and Venice Beach, 3rd Street Santa Monica promenade with lots of bars, restaurants, shops.
The Fairmont lobby is stylish, nice bar (cocktails were average), swimming pool (it was always busy from 10am, we couldnt get to the pool in 3 days...), FIG restaurant (we tried only breakfast, it was good), Dogtown coffee (usually a long line due to only all-in-one barista), small sushi place (works only wed - sunday).
Firstly, we got deluxe ocean room - the room was small, but livable. The main problem that its in front of the Bungalow bar. There was a party with DJs and lots of people, so it was super noisy even with closed windows/balcony. We asked for another room.
Finally, we got premier ocean room - the view was great. The size of the room is the same as deluxe, its small. You barelly can be in a bathroom with somebody else. Im an IT guy and it was strange that rooms are not equiped with any new techs: if you need smart tv (youtube at least), you have to connect your phone/chromecast... no air conditioner remote, its an old one. The power sockets are only from one side of a bed (why?). There is a bluetooth speaker with Lenovo iPad. But you cannot connect to a speaker. Also, it was noisy during nighttime. I always woke up every night. To summarize it, the rooms are big minus. Its not what you expect from a 5-star hotel.
The staff were great. They were really helpful.
