I didn't realize it was more like a dormitory complex but it had everything necessary and it was VERY quiet. A very pretty area safe for walks. The only negative was that it should not be listed as a lodge but I guess it depends on where you look to book online. I'd stay there again.

The lodge is an excellent choice if you value garden like community and gorgeous space of the bedroom & living room. The kitchen is the best I’ve ever seen! The only thing is you have to bring all cooking materials otherwise you have to drive quite a while to prepare all cooking materials. The breakfast is pretty good, you’ll be served all the traditional continental style meals.

The hotel is very low quality compared to the price. The mattress is low quality, pillows are very low quality and not comfortable at all. The furniture and the room setting is not of quality and dorm like setting. Only good for location inside campus. Staff is helpful

I wasn't there long enough to form an opinion outside of my arrival and room. My 2nd message from Carey Lodge which likely contained my door code and some entrance instructions would not open so I had a bit of a hard time figuring it all out while exhausted and in a lot of pain. Expedia thankfully supplied the door code. I arrived 5 minutes after reception closed. Once to my room I.realized it had not been cleaned. I found a buzzer by the entrance and contacted someone i could not hear for a couple minutes but eventually heard staff would come clean the room. Mistakes happen. My room was too warm, the fan rattled terribly, the bed was comfy, the toilet seat was falling off and super low, narrow shower, not very clean anywhere and no bedside table was a strange surprise. Do not recommend for someone with physical disabilities. Was quiet. Staff seemed friendly. Surrounded by beautiful grounds and buildings.

Carey lodge is within a theological college. It is a peaceful and calm atmosphere. The staff at reception were friendly and welcoming. The university is a short drive from downtown. I would stay there again.

It is a dorm and I 100% knew that going in however, a few things of note: -the floor was sticky in the bathroom - there is mildew in the shower - there was no hand soap in the bathroom - a fan in the room helped beat the heat however the blinds were wide open so it was hotter than it needed to be upon arrival - the fridge stunk - they were painting the hall ways so paint fumes were one more thing and no one said anything at check in. This was not worth the Price AT ALL! Positives - breakfast and coffee in the morning was great. Staff were friendly. Location on campus if you need to be is iDeal.

Spacious 2-bedroom suite and a good location for UBC campus events. However, there was no AC, only two fans, so I wouldn’t recommend it for summer stays. Breakfast was disappointing. Both the juice and coffee tasted watered down, and I only had one piece of toast.

The hotel has no staff at all after 7:00pm. The automated check in system requires an access code that is sent by email on the day of stay. If email is delayed, not sent, or not received, there is absolutely no possible way to get past the lobby or get a room. I didn’t get the email and I had to book a hotel several miles away that cost more than twice as much, and meant that I didn’t arrive until after dark. To make matters worse, no one answers their phone even during the hours that the front desk is staffed.
