Me and my girlfriend visited Malta for the first time over half-term and stayed at the San Karlu for three nights. The hotel was lovely, with nice rooms and a delicious breakfast. The pool was also lovely to visit, with the rooftop bar a bonus! The only feedback we'd give is that the pool could do with being heated, especially for when the sun goes down, and also the railings around the pool could do with glass or perspex layer to block out the wind - it can get a little chilly on the roof! Otherwise a lovely stay and we'll be back again!

The property was spotless. Breakfast was good. The location was within walking distance too many attractions and to the ferry. The only drawback about Valletta was the walking up and downstairs. But that had nothing to do with the property. I would stay there again. There were lots of great restaurants and nightlife very close to the hotel. But the hotel was extremely quiet.

Overall, it was a great stay. However, the area within a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel felt a bit quiet and secluded, with quite a few vacant houses around. It’s worth being a little cautious when coming and going.

We had a lovely stay at San Karlu in Valletta. The hotel is tucked down a charming alleyway in a traditional building, which adds to the charm. Everything was super clean and well looked after. Our room was a great size for a few nights – comfy bed, good aircon, and plenty of hanging space. The rooftop pool was a real highlight — the perfect way to unwind after exploring the beautiful streets of Valletta and the Three Cities. The only downside was the breakfast — a bit limited and cramped, but honestly, for the price point, you can’t expect everything. There are plenty of fantastic cafés nearby for a proper coffee and pastry fix. The location is quiet at night but within easy walking distance to all the action for dinner and drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Overall, a fantastic little hotel at a great value. We’d definitely come back!

We had a lovely stay and had the room with the hot tub. This was great as it was too cold for a swim. Room is large and comfy bed slight smell from drain in bathroom so left the extractor fan on. Breakfast was great with large selection and staff very attentive. Great location in Valletta as quiet but easy to get to centre.

This hotel was perfect, it’s in an ideal location to get to most of the bars, restaurants as well as the tourist attractions! The hotel was clean, very modern and the room was very spacious, very clean and very well presented, we loved the little touches such as the robes, slippers and the little hamper of stuff you may need such as a vanity kit and moisturiser. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating, friendly and happy to help every second of the day! The pool was a perfect edition, it was very clean and the area around it was always presentable! The rooftop bar staff were amazing! The bar Itself served both food and snacks, with the staff bringing them over to where you were located! If there weren’t any towels available upon entering the pool deck, the staff were happy to help and radio down for some to be brought up, they then brought them over to you at your sun lounger or table! All in all, we couldn’t pick any faults with this hotel! It was perfect for us! Thank you for a lovely stay.

The property is very nice and great accommodating staff. The breakfast was good quality and plentiful. Our stay in April would not allow the cooling to work as the whole system is set to heating until it becomes “cooling season” not sure what that is but our first room was 25 degrees and didn’t get below 23 even with the window fully open

We checked in and were given a room early but it was in an inner courtyard and it was a bit claustrophobic. So, we asked for another room and went out for lunch. We came back and the hotel gave us the best room in the hotel with a large outside patio with the only jacuzzi tub in the hotel. After a long day of walking around Valletta it was nice to soak our tired bodies in the hot tub. We spent an enjoyable 3 nights at the hotel!

Amazing stay at san Karlu with dedicated staff very careful for guests and easily reachable by WhatsApp during the stay. They prepare the room for my father's birthday and were helpful for any request. Improvement shall be done to maintain a good level of cleaning for long stays, not changing systematically the plates at breakfast would lower the washing volume. Furthermore staff needs to be more informed about the touristic activities to better guide the clients. Pretty well located the hotel offers all commodities and is quiet !

Really nice and cozy hotel with an upscale feel. We received a free room upgrade. The room was spacious, modern and comfortable. Breakfast was nice although the dining room was a bit cramped. There's a rooftop pool that's unfortunately not open until noon, so we didn't get to use it as we only stayed one night. However, we were allowed to store our luggage after checking out and would've been allowed to use the pool area along with a shower, which was really appreciated. Great stay, would definitely consider again!

It’s a new hotel (no signs on the building yet) which is modern and very clean. Lovely bathroom. The hotel is very quiet but located approx 5 mins walk from the centre of town and easily walkable to all places of interest. Breakfast is good but a little chaotic as the food area (self service) is about the size of a small galley kitchen and can’t accommodate more than three people. The only real downside - probably the hardest and most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Otherwise, it’s ideal for a short break.

This is a lovely little hotel in a quiet part of Valetta: the central area with bars and restaurants is about 10 minutes walk away and it's all up hill! But don't let that put you off, as there are lots of hills in Valetta. The hotel itself is great. The staff were unfailingly helpful and courteous, everyone spoke English and the service was of international standard. The hotel doesn't have a functioning restaurant or bar but it serves a nice breakfast with both Continental and English breakfast options. There's a small but welcome plunge pool on the roof, with sunbeds and a hatch servery offering drinks and snacks during the day - but there's plenty of bars and eating places up the hill, so its not a problem. The decor is modern and the rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Also, the hotel arranged airport transfers for us, which was one thing less to worry about.We were made to feel very welcome and had a very enjoyable stay.
