The hotel is clean and the staff is nice. although the room is relatively small but the hotel has a spacious common area open 24 hours for reading cooking or watching TV. Easy parking with a big parking lot is a plus.

You get what you pay for isn't a bad thing necessarily. These are old pipeline housing units placed together and converted into a hotel. It is warm, dry, and a good place to lay your head if you don't have your heart set on 5-star luxury. You are in Valdez, after all, and choices are slim, especially at the time of year we went. Staff was friendly and jovial, and it was clean, cheap, and quiet. All I needed, but then again, I'm not as fussy as some people.
