Very comfy room to stay in with my wife and son. Slept very well. Nice open dining area and kitchen to eat at. Wish I could have tried the massage chair but I was so tuckered out from fishing 🙂

The property was very nice, and the check-in process went well. We were definitely a little taken a back with the fact that the family that runs the property was presently staying there. Where this isn't a deal breaker, and they were very respectful of privacy and very friendly, it was still a little bit of a surprise. Overall, it was a great stay, and we would book again.

This B&B is a converted house where individual bedrooms are rented out. Because of this layout, the breakfast area sits in a central hub directly connected to the rooms. While convenient, this design creates significant noise issues; sounds from the breakfast area carry straight into the bedrooms, and room conversations can easily be heard by neighbors. Additionally, the room felt quite cramped with two beds inside, and the shower is too tight for larger individuals. Worst of all, the bed was far too soft for a comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast options were also very limited, lacking adequate protein choices. Overall, we will likely look for other accommodations in the area next time. The host is very kind and friendly.

Lisa was a great host. Lots of options for breakfast, enjoyed meeting other guests from different parts of the country and world. Room was clean and quiet with a nice en suite bathroom. Very close to the harbor and multiple dining options.

The folks that own the place are really nice and made the stay very enjoyable. The house is very clean and the rooms have plenty of space. It was often so quiet in my room, I thought I was the only one there.

Warm and cozy stay in Valdez

This is a very warm and cozy stay. The room and bathroom were very well set up. There was a common area to eat at. We ended up heating up food from the local Safeway for lunches and dinners and there was an assortment of breakfast options available. Valdez is a small town so it is easy to take a break from local sightseeing and come back to rest and recharge. We drove in from Wrangell–StElias NP and left via the ferry to Whittier.

Good sized room with private bath. Huge common area with living room, dining area and kitchen. A bonus was the free laundry with complementary detergent and softener. Although all four rooms were in use I felt as if I had the place to myself. That’s a good thing! This property had to be the most immaculate B and B, hotel, motel or inn that I’ve ever stayed at. Well stocked with all the amenities that you’d expect. I found the price to be very reasonable, less then hotels that didn’t offer everything that The House on the Rock did.

The hostess was very kind. She took time explaining everything about the facility and things to do around town. They had a massage chair which was neat! Each morning they set out a spread of breakfast items for our enjoyment. This place is family owned. The family was appreciative of our business. I would recommend staying here.

Loved staying here, would definitely recommend. Very clean and close to town. Amy was super friendly and gave my boyfriend and I recommendations on where to explore in Valdez. The kitchen and common areas were also a pleasure, with breakfast food included. 10/10!
