Girls Trip

The hotel is in a great location; Right from chevk in the service was exceptional, Pumula was amazing , service with a smile 😊; lots of restaurants around; across the street there is a pick n pay and various ATM machines, close to beach with walking/running trail. One suggestion would be to upgrade/ change the TV's, they are old the picture quality is bad. Down the street there is a huge mall called Pearls of Umhlanga, it is beautiful with great shopping!! I will definitely be back and will recommend this property!!

Good option in Umhlanga rocks. Things which could be improved easily: - more careful room service (one day room was done by the housekeeping and the towel replacement was not provided, I had to call to have them back) - I had to ask for the shower mat and it disappeared again the following day. Looks like it’s not part of the standard provision - the sustainability policy for towels is just on the paper. Even if I left them hanging for reuse, these have been changed daily. Last, one bottle of water could be added in the room at least at the arrival as a courtesy.

Disappointed

As a loyal, monthly returning client at Protea Marriott, i was sorely disappointed with the level of service. I was given room 552. Which has no sea view. It has a whole wall blocking even sunlight into the room & a view of the flat across. I requested a change of room as i checked in around 5pm. I was told they fully booked and the lady who checked me in, didnt even check if i could be moved. She was so unhelpful! Also in my room, the amenities keep getting worse with each visit. I didnt even have tissues this time round. Also, get new towels.

So accomodating!

Lovely, comfortable one night stay. Staff were very friendly and most accomodating. When they noticed my elderly mother with us, we were offered a more suitable room to accomodate her needs.
