The hotel was spotless, the pool was a very nice space. I was fortunate to have it all to myself. It was 2 beautiful days in June, people were able to swim, lay in the lounge chairs outside and use the hottub. They provide a wonderful breakfast, a great location and so much to do in the area.

A very nice hotel and a nice garden which could have been better maintained. The staff was very friendly and the food was nice. We enjoyed our stay at Brakanes hotel. Be aware that it’s no minibar at the room.

Greatest view probably in my life from my room, though the room is tiny and the bed as well. They dont change towels nor clean the room but the view compensates for everything. The food at the restaurant made me sick twice so I quit eating there.

If you are drawn to this hotel by seeing it on People of the North, then prepare to be disappointed. The location is lovely and the rooms are large, and of course the view of the fjord is stellar, but there are several areas for disappointment. The dinner menu, for example, remains the same night after night. There is a "white fish of the week," rather than a selection of fish for main courses. There is lamb; it is fine. But if you are at the hotel for several nights, the menu is dull and you might want to eat elsewhere (but "elsewhere" place is not open on Sundays or Mondays, so plan carefully). Breakfast if ample, with many choices, but it can also get repetitive after a few days. Surprisingly, there are no bathrobes nor irons in the rooms. Water pressure is good and the bedding is comfortable. I do not understand why the hotel does not receive more guests from European countries that are now miserably hot in summer; the French, English, and Spanish should be flocking to Norway. Instead, the hotel receives as many as six bus-loads of Asian guests daily, and they stay only one night, and they are loud. I do not understand why the hotel chooses to operate in this manner, but maybe it cannot stay in business otherwise, given the aforementioned lack of vacationers from Europe (and the US). Despite the lovely view and close proximity to the cider route, I did not feel that I was in Norway; I felt that I was visiting Shanghai. There is a nearby public ferry to another fjord, too.

The hotel lobby and restaurant have a charming view (water front), but the room facilities feels renovation needed, such as only one clothes hook inside the bathroom was loosened, water flowed allover after shower, toilet roll was hard to reached (80cm away)…etc. Overall, the price-performance ratio is not high enough

We arrived at breakfast at 9.30 - after recommending from the receptionist (earlier would be a hassle due to many people). But all basic food were missing (bread, eggs, cheese, croissants, fruit, etc) it was very difficult to get anything and the waiters were busy cleaning up.
