Beautiful accommodation in a lovely quiet area. Mary and Jim really make you feel at home and go out of their way to make for a truly wonderful and memorable stay. The breakfast is sensational. Advice for other travelers is even if you’re not doing a hike, tell them that you are just to get the packed lunch with the best sandwich on the planet!

This gem of a B&B seems like it was taken directly from a cozy murder mystery--at least before any of the mayhem starts! Beautiful flower gardens, soft carpets, china tea sets, and warmth abound, as does friendly conversation with the very affable proprietor and proprietress. Make the Olive Rabbit a stop on your next visit to NZ!

It’s a small, cozy, beautiful place. Very quiet and clean. With an amazing breakfast. The owners-Mary and Tim are like parents. Very caring, super kind, always ready to help. One day i didn’t have a time to eat breakfast, so they gave me a breakfast and a lunch with me to go. Amazing place and a wonderful people. Truly recommend to everyone.

Mary and Tim are amazing and welcoming. Their breakfasts are second to none and by far the envy of all hikers catching an early morning shuttle for Tongariro Alpine Crossing. We are sad we only had two nights with them, as they are amazing hosts. We will plan to stay again to catch Tongariro in better weather.
