We were looking for one last trip together before the baby comes. The cottage at the Open Hearth Inn was perfect. A very comfortable, warm space with all the amenities we needed. While Acadia is not as close a walk as we thought it would be, it was a close drive. We are very happy we stayed there and hope to be returning some day with a bigger family.
My girlfriend and I needed to place to stay after some Winter hiking in Acadia. Our cabin was perfect! The cabin was super cozy, clean and had a parking spot right next to it! Super friendly and responsive staff! Hands down the easiest check-in and check-out I have ever experienced. We will back again for sure!
The property has a house and cottages. Being winter, I opted not to stay at the cottages but the house. It said in the reservation it was a lodge. When I found it -around back from the house and the cottages, it was a garage with rooms above it. The night stand had a penny and part of a wrapper on it when I arrived and the bath mat had footprints on it.
My friend and I stayed at the Open Hearth Inn last week, and we had a great experience. Our room was cute and homey with a convenient self-check-in and a full kitchen we could've used if we had wanted to stay longer and cook meals. The motel owners were very accommodating and let me use their shower in their home when the pipes unfortunately froze one cold morning, they were very courteous and I will definitely be coming back for future visits to the Acadia area.
This is a super cute little cabin, little. While it was fine for us, know that this does not have much space in it beyond the bed (at least in ours). Not sure why they have the ironing board hanging because it actually took up space. But they packed a lot into the space including coffee set up, fridge and microwave so all good. Communication before and during the stay was great and contactless which was appreciated. Appreciate also NOT having a bunch of little shampoos, they have in large dispensers, much better.
Arriving here felt like coming home. Everything was clean and cozy. I stayed in a suite in the main building and it was perfect. It’s a bit quirky (the bathtub is in the room) but in the most lovely way. The people that run it welcomed me and told me the best spots to see and treated me like family. Next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely stay here again.
The Open Hearth Inn was AMAZING! The rooms were beautiful, and comfortable. The owners were phenomenal. So accomadating, friendly, and welcoming. Great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can!
It is cute cabin and microwave and refrigerator help for off season stay because many restaurants were closed here. Room has small desk and chair, can eat food but too small for if two people stay.
I stayed in one of the suites and it was so homey and adorable. I loved the convenient location to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It was perfect for the relaxing getaway I was looking for. Definitely would recommend.
Nice cottage and great location for easy access to Bar Harbor and Acadia Park. Price was good compared to Bar Harbor prices. Only comment - the room is small, especially the bathroom and shower, but it worked for us.

10am checkout is brutal to someone who drove long miles and arrived late.
If you don’t like cars and small planes oozing by and over the properties this place isn’t for you. Room was OK but clearly overpriced for what it is.
What a great solace to stay!! This was a beautiful 200 year old home turned into a hotel. Loved everything about our stay! We immediately felt welcomed by Dan and felt at home. Thanks for an awesome experience. Highly recommend for anyone that enjoys feeling like you’ve stepped into another era. If we’re ever visiting Maine again, we will definitely be choosing to stay here!
Cob webs in bathroom, ceiling fan was filthy and dust bunnies hanging down, rugs were dirty looking and should be replaced. There was lots of dirt under the headboard on the floor and under the bed. Room was cramped but bed was comfortable. The shades on the 2 windows were torn.
So don't believe the write up on it
