It is in a nice quiet location that is in easy walking distance to town. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Lovely view of Magnetic Island from the dining room balcony.

Absolutely lovely place to stay with magnificent views out to Magnetic Island. Well located, easy to get to the CBD and The Strand. The owners are lovely and friendly, great to have a chat with, and Jack and Jill, the motel doggos, keep an eye on everything. Rooms are well appointed, and there is some renovations happening to update them. Will definitely stay here again 😊

Comfortable room, good location. My only small gripe was no power points on both sides of the bed. We arrived late and key was easily accessed as arranged. Definitely stay there again.

The motel was in a quiet location and some units had lovely views to Magnetic Island. It was a steep 15 min walk from the city where most of the eateries were located. Island View was good value, but a little dated. If you had a car to travel from the property, it would have been much better. There was a small bar on a balcony (with fabulous views) close to reception which was open from 5 - 6pm.

We had trouble with hot water and the lock on the front door. Both these issues were known when we were offered solutions but we weren’t forewarned. A cold shower in the coldest weather Qld has had in years wasn’t welcome. Doors & windows rattled all night with the wind, as well. The internet access was good but it’s about time motels have smart TV’s so guests can access their own streaming services. I have access to 8 services & couldn’t use any of them. Reception was pleasant but all they really wanted was for me to hand over my credit card. Lastly, nearly $200 a night was exorbitant. It’s time we got past the “anything the market will bear” attitude from landlords.

Large spacious rooms, well equipped and nice views. Sound proofing might be a bit of a problem but it was fine for a short stay.

I had contacted staff 3 times to let them know that I would require the late check in details. The last time being 3pm on day of arrival. I was informed that I would receive an SMS detailing the late check in procedure for my room key. Suffice to say when I arrived at 7.20pm still no SMS rang the mobile number to be informed that they had not sent it and it was sent almost immediately informing me which lock box it was in and the combination. Pity the instructions on how to actually use the said lock box were not included. Luckily another guest could help me out so not very many thanks for the staff unfortunately. The room though dated was clean functional and in good repair.

A great place to stay if you need to be in walking distance of Townsville CBD, but far enough to be very quiet at night. Also dark at night with the windows facing away from the lights of the car park. A good setup. And fantastic views as the name suggests.
