Hotel is a bit run down and room had a nasty disinfectant odor. Everything worked but it was Australia Independence Day so that might have been part of the issues

This property included parking in the price which is great. Unfortunately the property looks shabby and unkempt from outside and is decorated in very miserable colours inside giving it a dated feel.

Never knew the place was there and was very very surprised how good it was presented and managed. Upper carpark for my 4wd was rather difficult to enter and leave the space

We were disappointed that the Greek Restaurant was closed for refurbishment - which was the only reason we stayed here rather than down the road. Knowing that it is now going to be an Italian smorgasboard style place - we won't be back. The parking area was too small for the size of cars in the area.

The room, carpeted, smelled musty and everything was not spotless. It was impossible to open the windows to air out the room, and the air conditioner was slightly noisy. We slept poorly, especially because of the smell, and were really disappointed. However, the reception staff were very friendly.

Reliable and Beautiful

I have loved the Clarion since my very first stay. The high level of customer service given by the on Duty Manager/Reception and overall quality of the hotel and the spacious rooms/design/layout is why it's one of my favourite hotels in Townsville and why I keep returning. I always choose a bath.. I like them so much that I wouldn't submit any negative feedback online but would rather notify them in-house. It's also convenient having an adjoining restaurant Yayo's with their Greek food and Merlo Coffee. The only thing I will add is for them to please bring back the cleaning product that had a sweet cinnamon type fragrance that reminded me of a Christmas fragrance.. it's preferred over the bleach 😉.

Telephone connection was broken. The bottom of the shower screen door pivot was rusted. There was no toilet brush. Opened and half used recyclable cutlery was left in the drawer. The bed was beautifully comfortable.

How can I NOT help you ?

This place is one step above youth hostel. The man at the reception in the evening was the worst employee and should be let go. How can I NOT help you? Should be on his calling card. He actually seemed annoyed that he had to look up from his phone. Please note there were no hairdryers in the rooms or to borrow from the front desk.

All the Reception staff were very friendly and helpful to me, an interstate visitor The room and bathroom was large and clean and the big surprise was the Nespresso coffee machine I would definitely stay here again should I find myself visiting Townsville in the future

Die Zimmer zur Straße sind extrem laut. Wir haben leider nur noch das barrierefreie Zimmer buchen können und das war als andere als komfortabel. Auch ein barrierefreies Bad kann man schön gestalten. Ablagemögluchkeiten waren nicht vorhanden. Es war sehr alt und nach dem duschen, stand das ganze Bad unter Wasser. Der Stuhl im Schlafbereich steht vor Dreck. Positiv war der Parkplatz.

The hotel is under new management and in the process of refurbishment. The staff, especially Annie the receptionist, were delightful. Happy, accommodating and friendly. Our room was clean, spacious and well serviced. Once the refurbishments are finished this will be an even more wonderful place to stay. In the center of the city and close to shopping and eateries - perfect.

Disappointed paid $250 for king bed with tub…no tub, no cafe, no bar, no room service. Changed hands a few months ago and old owners took everything apparently. No microwave or toaster in room, just a kettle. Extremely basic for the high price. Was great to have a cup, teabag and milk to have a cuppa. Room was clean & bed comfy but very overpriced

I won’t recommend to many. Lack of information about excitement places, no parking for customers, staff who seems not interested working at the hotel, and no excitement about welcoming guests. Maybe because of long weekend but that’s not a good excuse.
