A potential stop en route to / from Santander?

We wanted a stop close to Santander to be at port for mid-day next morning. this seemed a possibility with restaurant options close by. Attracted by unrealistic suggestions of plentiful easy nearby parking - yes some of it's free (albeit a lot less in reality than is suggested) and there is a lot of double parking by residents waiting to find a space to park their car in the spaces that are truly free - for several blocks around. In the end 2 and a half hours after arrival I finally parked in Town Hall car park €11.95 for 24 hours. Difficult to find way in and because of roadworks way out and obviously not close to hotel for unloading - nowhere to do so outside hotel! Torrelavega is a nightmare to get into and out of! Very slow zones, roadworks and lack of signage to quick exit! Allow a good hour if not 90 minutes to be at Santander port. Local restaurant La Tienda in nearby church square provided good tapas style options for eating - but not before 8:00 PM. Hotel is a bit tired - next door is a car workshop - but we were not disturbed by that. No air conditioning so stuffy and airless and window opens onto a walkway so not secure enough to leave open at night. No room safe to keep valuables secure whilst out for a meal! Bed comfortable enough and bathroom all OK - good shower - sensible height possible. Clean and basic - it claims 3 stars ??? Couldn't find an English speaking news station on TV

Excellent location; right in the center of the city. Many places to eat. Hotel was very clean; rooms were very clean and staff was very friendly. No parking in the hotel; that is a minus, but you can find parking around.

El hotel está bien en calidad precio, atención personal muy bien situación del hotel buena si no fuera porque debajo del hotel hay un Gimnasio abierto 24h. Los Viernes Con Música asta las 04,00h de la madrugada por lo el que quiera descansar que no se alojé en las habitaciones del interior yo solo dormí 90 minutos, Hiba para tres días y solo estuve seis horas. Creo que deberían de poner en la propaganda que la Música está incluida en el presio.

Alla reception il personale è stato molto cortese. Si può parcheggiare la moto nelle vicinanze. In generale gli interni dell'albergo sono datati e poco accoglienti. Siamo arrivati in una giornata calda e con grande stupore abbiamo scoperto che la camera era priva di aria condizionata...c'era solo un ventilatore, assolutamente insufficente per raffreddarla...anche con la porta finestra lasciata aperta è stato impossibile riuscire a dormire. La colazione era veramente povera... Non è un albergo che consiglierei, nonstante la cortesia delle Signore alla reception..

Muy buena ubicacion y aunque Torrelavega estaba en fiestas, no se escuchaba casi nada en la habitacion. Por otro lado, hacia mucho calor, al menos nos pusieron un ventilador. El hotel esta un poco anticuado en algunos aspectos y ppdria estar todo un poquito mas limpio. Las señoras de recepcion muy amables.

El wifi cae cada 5 minutos, y hay que volver a introducir usuario y contraseña cada vez. Había dos pelos largos en la sábana y dentro de la cama; lo comentamos en recepción y nos ofrecieron cambio de habitación, que agradecimos pero declinamos, ya instalados. El enchufe en la habitación está sobre el cabecero de la cama y en el centro, alejado de las mesillas. La ducha funciona estupendamente con abundante agua caliente. No recomendamos el desayuno, escaso para las 10:00 aunque disponible hasta las 10:30. La ubicación es excelente, aparcamos en la calle cerca del hotel y el precio es asequible.
