We’ve been to the Grand quite a few times now, either to stay, or for lunch. It’s always a great place to visit. The staff are very friendly and the setting is perfect. I know that some of the decor is looking a little tired, but for the price, it’s very good value. It has everything we need and more.

Hotel was nice. Actual bedroom was in need of modernisation. Bar only had one member of staff when we arrived which wasn't ideal but she coped and they did eventually get her some help. Function room was good and breakfast in the morning was ok but nothing special.

House keeping was poor, staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, toilet seat was broken on arrival and breakfast options were limited. The only good things were the great location, comfortable beds and decent room size. Save your money and go somewhere else!

Lovely stay, breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was kept nice and hot. We had Room 328 which was very bright and airy with panoramic views, the station, cricket ground and a corner view of the sea. The shower over the bath proved to be tricky in getting the right temperature without being scolded or it turning freezing cold, hence this took about 10/15 mins each day! Bed should be replaced, has probably seen better days as it was very squishy and bouncy, however, this did not ruin our stay. Both of the pools were very good as were the new changing rooms. Staff in the Compass Bar were very helpful and worked well in their roles, especially Ahmed who was always smiling, polite and helpful. Check-in staff were always professional and helpful.

We had breakfast and a evening meal which was absolutely delicious, could not fault anything . The location was great with beautiful views of the bay . We will definitely stay here again , we highly recommend The Grand Hotel .
