The hotel has amazing character and suits those looking to experience British history! Super friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and quite out there interior design vs the boring modern hotels. The poached eggs with the breakfast were also some of the best I have ever had.

This is the second stay at The Grand. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. We were bed and breakfast , the bed was very comfortable, the room was a decent size and the breakfast was very good. Although the room was clean the main window needs attention as putty is missing which makes it drafty and also it needs painting. The flat roof outside is an eyesore. We found the wifi poor and the size of the tv too small for the size of the room. A big positive for us is the location of the railway station as we will both be 80 years old in a few months we tend to use the train and not the car. We will certainly stay in The Grand in the future and would go for a higher room, as we previously had, in the hope we would have a better view. Thank you for our enjoyable stay.
