It was very dingy and the bed squeaked. There was a discarded granola bar wrapper on the window sill, no stoppers for the tub or sink, and a clot of hair in the shower drain. Front staff very pleasant though, I must admit.

At first I thought the hotel was closed as the parking lot was empty and the doors were locked when I arrived on New Years Eve. Fortunately I found an open door around the other side where hotel guests check in. As it turned out the ballrooms are on the ground level and reception is located on the second floor. Check in was smooth once I found the front desk. Some cleaning in the room was overlooked. The bathroom mirror was dirty and should have been cleaned. A couple of lamps didn't work. Fortunately I had one working bedside lamp which was adequate. Queen bed was a basic mattress but adequate for a night's sleep. Lots of space especially for a solo traveller with a separate bedroom area with a view of Downsview Park / Sheppard Ave and CN Tower can be seen far off in the distance in my south facing room. Very close to the new Downsview subway station and GO train which was convenient since I was traveling on foot and there's not much to see or do in the immediate area unless you're attending an event at Rogers Stadium.
