Overall Good Experience

The whole building had a very faint smoke smell. It seems like this hotel was renovated but feels like a very nice hotel from 1995. The spa and pool were excellent

Great location and room was wonderful.

Great location. Room was spacious with awesome amenities (full size fridge and microwave in kitchenette). Very clean and quiet. The only inconvenience was that the room had no bar soap. I had to go to the lobby to retrieve some. No big deal. Would definitely stay again!

Overall the stay was very good. Other than road construction (and the condition of the road getting to the hotel was very poor), the stay was good. Very good location to restaurants and other services.

This place felt like home! Nice little kitchenette with dishes, couch in sitting area with TV that swivels so you can either watch from the king bed or the living area with the couch. Nice bathroom with cabinets. Pool, hot tub, good breakfast with hot and cold items.

Old buildings are hard to clean. Carpet is disgusting and old. No solid granite or composite quartz anywhere. Lamp in my bedroom had protective brown paper adhesive stuck to the plastic white shade top (which I washed off) it looks much better now. I understand you cannot refurbish the hotel often, but after 40 years it is obvious that nothing has been done. The lighting is terrible & there are no outlets with charging options for an A or C adapter to charge a phone or computer. I guess you have no competition.

I arrived having been told there would be a room for me that had never had pets in it. I was informed that was not the case. The man at the desks did his best he upgraded my room insisting animals had not been in the room for four day prior. I had a severe reaction to the room. I could not breathe. I asked for a refund and was told since I booked with Expedia with a 10 dollar upgrade if refund was needed, we could not get a refund. We cannot reach Expedia for a refund. We paid for your room and for a “pet free”hotel at a higher price. Two hotel rooms for a one night stay.

Great Hotel in Topeka

Check in was fast and easy. Room was very clean and had plenty of room. Plenty of work space as well as room to relax. Had full kitchen with a standard sized refrigerator. Highly recommended for extended stay.

This is an average hotel that needs updating. The bathroom floor needs to be cleaned better-dirty corners and grout. I complained about the light in the shower/toilet room as it blinks several times like a strobe light before going fully on. The woman at the desk said that all of the bathrooms do that. That is unacceptable IMO. The staff at the desk were not friendly and didn’t even greet us when we arrived to check in. The doors to the entrance of a hotel slide open, but have the feeling like one is walking into a jail. Even the exterior of the property needs some attention/improvement. The Continental breakfast included with the rooms was average. We did appreciate the full kitchen with a full size refrigerator!

I have stayed at this property multiple times. With this latest stay it appeared that they are into cost cuttting mode. Breakfast choices have decreased. The towels in the room were smelly and had to get those changed. Still in a great part of town, so decent option to stay, but not as good as before

Nice people; loud AC unit

Core issue was that the air conditioning was EXTREMELY loud, like a jet taking off, as was the bathroom fan. Too hot to sleep without AC and too stormy to sleep with window open. Both need to be upgraded. The hotel is about ready for an update, but clean and friendly. Good breakfast runs til 9 on weekdays. We had a one bedroom; the main room was slightly small for a residence Inn. Front desk was friendly. Pool and hot tub were great. Bed was comfortable for someone with a bad back.

Liked: It was an actual 2 private bedroom with bathroom, and full kitchen suite. Beds were very comfortable. We had a nice, quiet corner room for most of the week. Didn't like: We couldn't find the thermostat to adjust the temperature in the room. The (inside) pool area was like a sauna - the only way to really tolerate the steamy humidity was to be in the pool. The free continental breakfast was a real disappointment. The selection was the same every day and there wasn't very much to choose from. The only fruit was bananas and they were overly ripe - when they were gone, they weren't restocked. No pastries - only bagels, plain croissants and white bread. There were a few prepackaged muffins - chocolate and blueberry. By the end of our week-long stay, it was apparent they were putting whatever hadn't been eaten the previous day back out. There were no croissants left, one slice of bread, 3 stale bagels. I'm only belaboring the poor "free" breakfast because we had hoped to save money for one meal a day, but their breakfast just didn't cut it. Finally, while the linens appeared clean, my bedspread/blanket had disgusting hairballs embedded in the fabric. Luckily, I didn't need that blanket. Overall I think they could invest a couple dollars into new linens.
