The whole experience started off well by the welcoming reception of the person staffing the desk. Every one of the different people were sincerely friendly and wanting to help. The private bath was great! I highly recommend Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa.

Great hôtel in the Béart of old Tokyo. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We were able to check in early and leave our luggage on the last day in the lobby as we had a late flight. The bedroom is delightful and very Japanese. The bath was great and very hot with similar health to a sauna. Highly recommended

Excellent location for exploring Sensoji Temple, river path and other nearby attractions. Located down a quiet side street away from the VERY busy tourist shopping and food area. I enjoyed the guest lounge for free refreshments and snacks. Simple and clean layout of guest room.

Ryokans rule!

The bath was so relaxing. The experience and location are outstanding. The managers were so polite and helpful. You should definitely try out this Ryokan if you get the chance!

Our first Ryokan experience did not disappoint. Walking distance to many food options. Room was clean and spacious. Private bath option was nice. The staff was the best part of our stay. Everyone was super friendly.

Ryokan was excellent and private bath (30 min) was AMAZING! Very peaceful and relaxing room. A/C made the room very comfortable and bathroom was VERY clean! The [only] downside is that it is a long walk to/from nearby/major train station (at least when I went, it was ~10-15 blocks it felt like). Good to stay for one night but location-wise, I wouldn't stay for long periods.

This ryokan was in the perfect location just around the corner from the Senso-ji temple, shopping, dining and the metro. Staff was very friendly. The rooms were decent and the sleeping mats were pretty comfortable. No food options available, but did offer free snacks, dining area to eat and restaurant recommendations. You can schedule a time each day to use their large private bath which was nice, but one day they never called me to use it on my scheduled time. Overall, a nice traditional place to stay. Would stay again.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights. The room was super clean and very comfortable, we love the Japanese style accommodation because it really give you the experience of Japan culture. You could walk around in the neighborhood and drop in into any small restaurants to have a taste or local food. There are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance because it is so close to the very popular Senso-Ji temple. The manner (owner?) was extremely friendly and very pleasant to talk with even his English was not fluent. I would highly recommend to stay here if you want to have a real experience of Japan culture as a traveller (not just a tourist). Five stars. I would give it more if I could.

This area is perfect for those seeking traditional Japanese experiences, with its beautiful temples and shrines, as well as a wide variety of excellent restaurants. The hotel staff was exceptional, providing outstanding service throughout my stay. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was enjoyable. The room itself offered an authentic Japanese experience, complete with tatami mats and futons for sleeping. One unique aspect of the hotel was the traditional bath experience, which was unlike anything I had experienced before. However, the cleanliness of the bath area could be improved. While the hotel does not have breakfast service, it does offer complimentary tea and coffee, which was a nice touch. Additionally, I had the opportunity to participate in a caligraphy practice, which was a wonderful way to immerse ourselft in Japanese culture.

A magical stay in Asakusa for our 20th anniversary! We loved our recent stay with Ryokan Kagomawa in Asakusa. The staff was incredibly welcoming, kind, and thoughtful, and we were so touched by the beautiful present they gave us for our 20th wedding anniversary. We stayed in the deluxe room on our first night, which was absolutely amazing. We then moved to the economy room for the last two nights, as we had changed our booking before arriving. We enjoyed both experiences! Everything about your ryokan was perfect. We especially loved the lounge room with the complimentary popsicles, water, and rice crackers, plus the fun cultural activities like calligraphy, origami, and paper sumo wrestlers. It was so nice to unwind in the private bath every single night. Furthermore, you couldn't ask for a better location. Asakusa is a fantastic neighborhood, and being just a 5-minute walk from Senso-ji Temple made exploring so convenient. We highly recommend this ryokan to anyone visiting Tokyo and would return in a heartbeat.

Amazing personalized service! They let us check in a couple hours early, and when we told them it was our anniversary, they gifted a sweet gift during our stay. Endo-san and the other staff members were amazing hosts! We will definitely come back the next time we are in Japan!

Ryokan Kamugawa staff were very hospitable! Came in during a typhoon and they were kind enough to let us check in early to have a place to settle in to. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The private onsen was clean and love the complementary ice cream, origami and calligraphy post both. After check out, we asked if we could store our luggage for the day there and they did not hesitate. Highly highly recommend this Ryokan! It is right next to the Kaminarimon Gate with amazing shopping and dining locations and have a beautiful view of the Tokyo Skytree as soon as you step out of the entrance. Will definitely be looking to stay here in our next visit to Japan.
