This is a gem of a hotel in an excellent location. The room is very comfortable, breakfast delicious and most important, very friendly and helpful staff. We would come back here and also LOVED Thun.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Krone in Thun. Our room was incredible. Very spacious with windows that opened up to beautiful views of the river. The bathroom had a wonderful soaking tub, which was such a treat after a long day of exploring. The location was perfect for walking around town, with plenty of shops and restaurants just steps away. We would happily stay here again!

The hotel is in a great location to walk along the river and up to the castle. There are lots of restaurants and shops in the area and an amazing cocktail bar across the street called Atelier. The staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Beautiful hotel on a charming historic town square with updated rooms, and we enjoyed our very large and comfortable family room and large bathroom. Easily walkable throughout Thun to restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Nice lounges with coffee, tea and fruit on each floor, and the communal mini fridge was the only negative as would have been a nice in-room amenity.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the hotel's spotless condition and the tranquil atmosphere it maintained throughout our visit. One of the most appreciated amenities, particularly in the warmer months, was the efficient and reliable air conditioning – a definite plus that's often hard to find locally. The hotel's strategic position in Thun made it an excellent base; a quick 30-minute train journey connected us effortlessly to Interlaken. Lovely hotel in beautiful setting. Lots of nice touches to make it a comfortable stay. It would have been nice to have had a little more attention at breakfast especially as it was not included in the price. Would stay again, reception staff particularly helpful.

A base for our stay

On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted warmly, given information about our stay and the Winter Garden for coffee etc. The room, whilst compact, was comfortable, and cleaned daily, bed turned and even though advised about not refreshing towels, was also done daily. The breakfast was continental, fresh and plenty full, which made a good start to the day. The location was good, a ten minute walk to the station, which is well connected for travel in the area. Thun itself is nice location, with quite a few things to do, before venturing further afield to Interlaken or further still.

Hotel was perfectly located! Highly recommend if you are just visiting for one day as you can easily walk wherever you want in Old Town. If you are driving you can drive to the hotel, but likely you will end up parking in the garage a 8 min walk away. So I would plan on packing a light bag. Staff was great and our room had an unreal view of the mountains and river. Will recommend to all my friends.

Not worth it

Well this is the worst room in the property. Shower not working, holes in the bedsheet, no air or air conditioning that works in the room, divided bed in a honeymoon suite (duh?), just overall expensive room with bad views and nothing extra. On top no coffee machine or a fridge in the room.
