Review: Hotel Gokula Grand Turtle, Kovalam We stayed in a suite at Hotel Gokula Grand Turtle in Kovalam, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The ambience was warm and inviting, the food was delicious, and the management and staff were thoroughly professional and courteous. A highlight of our stay was participating in the Onam Sadya—it truly felt like celebrating Onam away from home, filled with warmth and tradition. I would especially like to mention a few team members who made our stay memorable: The front desk team – for the warm welcome and helpful introduction. The room attendants – for being exceptionally efficient, attentive, and caring. The General Manager and his colleagues – for their personal attention, with a special mention for their active involvement in organizing the Onam Sadya. The restaurant team – for their excellent service and genuine hospitality. Excellent value for money – the overall experience, from the suite to the service and dining, far exceeded our expectations and offered a truly premium experience. If I were to offer one constructive suggestion, it would be to give the property a slight facelift—a little maintenance upkeep would go a long way in enhancing the overall guest experience. That said, the natural surroundings more than make up for it. You can easily spend hours listening to the waves, watching fishermen at work, or enjoying tourist boats gliding across the sea. Had a wonderful 1 night stay in gokulam grand in kovalam. Staff were very kind and welcoming. Service was fantastic. Our room was very clean and well maintained. My only criticism is that the activity room could be maintained better. Only the table tennis, foosball and pool table were somewhat usable. The tv didn't work, no proper board games and AC didnt work either.

Good hotel near Lighthouse beach.

Our room at the Turtle was spacious, good and clean with a huge terrace with sea views. The pool area could have been cleaner and there was a shortage of sun beds and brollies. It was very easy to get to the beach by either hotel car or a tuk tuk was only INR 100. We spent most of our time on Lighthouse beach as at the left end, looking out to sea, there was an amazing snorkelling spot. Brilliant.

This property is definitely not a five star one. The amenities were old and very mediocre. The rooms were spacious but the whole corridor was slippery from water falling from the roof! They moved us to new rooms ; no water issues; but there was no doors to our shower! And there was some construction happening every day in the morning right above us for hours. Unless, we complained, it never stopped. The food was average and I don’t want to talk about the pool at all. The only positive thing in this property is its staff. They are the real five stars. Starting from the reception staff to housekeeping to the staff at the restaurant, they were all excellent. We will never go back ! It was a huge disappointment and we spend most of the inside our rooms reading!!!

We stayed for couple of days. There was a construction going on at the hotel, and they continued it past 11 pm. This was even after multiple guests made several requests and complaints. One of our neighboring guests, a senior folks were really uncomfortable with the noise, but rather than being understanding and halting the work, the staff manager was laughing. We were really surprised with the attitude. For a hotel, one would think that the guest’s comfort is of utmost importance. This place definitely belies that understanding. Food is strictly average. It was such a disappointment. We will never stay again.

Wonderful stay

A very warm welcome received from exceptionally friendly staff. Service was impeccable at all times. My daughter unfortunately broke a glass during our stay and within a couple of minutes of notifying reception, two members of staff came up to the room and cleared everything up for us. All of the food we ate was promptly brought out and tasted delicious. On our last evening, we had to hang around in reception until 1am in the morning waiting for our flight and George, the very kind man on reception came to ask us if we needed blankets so that we could have a sleep. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Neat Little Resort right on Kovalam Beach

I was travelling with my elderly parents & wanted to make sure that the resort we stayed in was relaxing, clean & spacious. Turtle on the Beach was an amazing resort..The staff was excellent, the room was huge & clean & the food was delicious. We had dinner & breakfast at their restaurant, overlooking the pool. Their location was excellent..next to Kovalam beach. In short, we really enjoyed our stay greatly! Would highly recommend it.
