Hotel is too old and not a typical Van der Valk standard. Room was big, bathroom old and the garden view is literally a parking view!

The young man at the desk was great upon check in. Recommended a place to eat to see the town and even called us a car and made reservations. Very appreciative towards the end of our trip when we were tired of figuring out where to eat!

I want to let other travelers know that you need a car if you are staying here. There is no other restaurant or shops or anything at all within a 2 mile ( at least ) proximity. It is NOT close to Leiden, where the shops and restaurants and tours occur. The restaurant here is only adequate. The staff was unhelpful and decidedly unfriendly. I would not book this hotel again.

Top shelf! We booked last minute as we weren’t sure where we would end up on our roadtrip. Our room-with three beds as requested-was ready when we walked in. The room itself was lovely-well appointed and very comfortable. The balcony was also really nice. The on site restaurant is wonderful and ending our evening with drinks on the canal was perfect. We added breakfast and it was fantastic. We will absolutely stay again!
