Hotel S Bento is your typical larger hotel. The staff, however, was very friendly and helpful. We did have dinner in the hotel one night which was quite good but if you are looking for ambiance, it's not at this hotel. The location worked out perfectly with easy access to the National Park which was our primary desire. I'd stay again but simply be ok with a "hotel" vs. any type of BnB.

Great Hotel near Peneda-Gerês Park

Hotel São Bento is a beautiful hotel in a great location near Peneda-Gerês national park. Everyone at the hotel were very friendly, kind, and helped us in English to address our limited Portuguese vocabulary. The restaurant was delicious as well, and the nearby park has amazing viewpoints (miradouros), waterfalls (cascatas) and hiking. We would definitely come back and stay at this hotel again.
