A wonderful resort with incredible mountainside views! Spacious rooms with wonderful amenities. This resort is a quick, yet beautiful ride to downtown Telluride. They offer a delicious free breakfast with many hot items and fresh fruit. The staff goes out of their way to creat a wonderful stay.

We really appreciated the upgrade to a better room and the free bottle of vino! Everyone was very nice and helpful and the property was very close to the gondola. What we didn’t appreciate was the constant expectation of tipping. Upon checking out we were asked to tip everyone including office mgmt. we were even expected to tip our hostess for our free buffet breakfast. We served ourselves our food and drink. The only thing she did was bring us a check asking for a tip. We did tip individuals, we felt deserved it, cash. This tipping thing is totally out of hand.

There were several things to like about this hotel. It is located in Mountain Village, which is a thousand feet above the town of Telluride; tucked in an alpine glen with several other hotels, restaurants, and upscale shopping. Access to the town of Telluride is best done using the free tram which departs from a couple of points within Mountain Village, stops at the top of the hill where you can get off and hike or just take in the scenery, and then descends to the town of Telluride itself. Not having to find parking in Telluride is a big plus to me. The layout of the room was very un-hotel like; more like a small condo or VRBO. The complimentary breakfast is in the downstairs restaurant. The food was certainly above average for complimentary breakfasts and has two different featured options daily as well as more typical fare such as fruit, breads, and yogurt. In the evening the same restaurant (Siam’s Talay Grille) has some very tasty far-eastern dishes with a good selection of wines. Although expensive this hotel is a nice treat for a romantic getaway or just a peaceful vacation.

Loved the hotel, the staff, the breakfast. Big complements to Carmine in the ski valet! My only feedback is, like every other hotel in Mountain Village, the base temperature of the hotel was way too hot. Basically have to keep a window open at all times.

Absolutely deserving of the reputation this place has. Many more amenities in the kitchenette than I actually expected, including a tube burner stove, top, toaster, dishes & utinsils. Rooftop hot tubs are by reservation but free and included in the hotel room rate. We had no problems getting a reservation. Also get free access to the spa and Pools at the Peaks resort.
