“The Teahupo’o surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV. “I stayed in the Kava bungalow which I thought was excellent. That said, the stairs to the loft where the main bed is are small and steep so something to keep in mind if you need to try to make it down to use the bathroom and back up in the dead of night. The grounds and the view are straight out of your favourite travel influencer’s TikTok, so that’s a highlight, for sure. And the food at the restaurant was great. “We very much enjoyed our stay at Fare Arihau Vairoo. The room was lovely and comfortable. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and took care of us as though we were family. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. All the food was prepared by our host from local ingredients mostly grown in their own garden. All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful.”

“Spacious 3 bedroom villa with great air conditioning in bedrooms, wonderful deck and plunge pool. Handy to have washing machine. Close to good restaurants. Welcome guide would be helpful or more communication with host / front desk re garbage etc. We had no mosquitoes and sat outside at dusk and in the evenings. Wonderful stay!”
