Historic Converted Convent

A lovely and very historic converted convent. All amenities provided and a great breakfast in lovely surroundings. In the old town close to all shops and restaurants etc.

We enjoyed everything about our stay, especially the friendliness of all the staff. With no exception they were professional, eager to help and always smiling. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice of hot and cold choices and drinks. The location is perfect for visiting the attractions of this characterful little town. We would return.

Historical luxury….

Beautifully restored monastery. Was a delight to stay and explore the building and its surroundings. Our room was a good size, very comfortable and had all the amenities we required. Evening meal was very enjoyable and good value. Good choice at Breakfast. We will definitely use other Pousada hotels in the Algarve.

Beautiful hotel, in the centre of Tavira near Tavira Castle. Lovely location and grounds. Great choice at breakfast. More suited to couple though our children were made welcome.

This is a lovely, quiet, well run hotel with excellent facilities and very friendly and efficient staff. If you’re looking to relax in a comfortable, stress-free environment I highly recommend staying here, we will be staying again at the next opportunity.

Beautiful hotel with excellent staff and service. Very good location for exploring the town. Restaurant is very good for dinner and breakfast, however the lack of comfort cooling in the dining room was disappointing.

As other reviewers have said, the hotel is generally exceptional in all respects. In my case, however, there were two unfortunate exceptions. The first was the bed. It’s no exaggeration to describe it as the hardest I have ever experienced. Had I not pre-paid I would have left after the first night. I complained to the receptionist in the morning. She seemed unconcerned. I asked if a topper could be added and she agreed to arrange it. Nothing had happened by 4pm so I went to see her again. She pretended to be engrossed in work and didn’t even look up at me. I complained to Expedia. By 4.30 the topper was in place! The second weak point was the above receptionist, who must have attended the same course as the one on duty when I left. She too ignored me as I stood in front of her to give my key back. I had stayed there for over a week and I expected the receptionist to hope that I’d enjoyed my stay, that she hoped that I’d stay there again, and to wish me a pleasant journey. But nothing! A complete contrast to the exceptionally friendly male receptionists and restaurant workers who had greeted me every day. A word to the wise!

Supermysigt hotell med helt fantastisk personal! Vi fick även en karta med förslag på restaurangen utmarkerade, vi provade ett flertal av dessa och de var verkligen värda ett besök! Det enda som vi inte gillade med hotellet var det extremt dåliga vattentrycket i duschen, samt att vi saknade en taklampa eftersom rummet blev väldigt mörkt när man stängde för fönsterluckorna för att hålla solen borta. Vi var dock väldigt nöjda med hotellet och kan verkligen rekommendera detta - bra läge, lugn atmosfär och trevlig personal.

Tolles Hotel in einem antiken Kloster

Ich war mit meiner Frau zum 50. Geburtstag für 3 Nächte vor Ort und war sehr zufrieden. Zuerst ist das Ambiente toll, der Service stets aufmerksam und das Frühstück war super umfangreich und lecker. Als Aufmerksamkeit zum Geburtstag gab es eine Flasche Schaumwein und einen kleinen Kuchen. Wir waren beide rundum zufrieden und können das Hotel mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen
