The hotel is located outside of town, so if you want to eat out, you'll need to walk a bit. However, there is a large parking lot, making it convenient for those traveling by car. The dining room and kitchen are well-equipped, and it seems that many guests cook their own meals. One nice point was that check-in was handled by staff rather than an automated system. They gave clear explanations and guidance, which was easy to understand and much appreciated. Each private room faces an outdoor corridor, and the lodge-style design felt refreshing. The ceiling above the lower bunk is quite low, so taller guests might find it uncomfortable when sitting up. I also found it slightly inconvenient that when using a plug adapter in one of the two outlets, it blocked the socket for the bedside light, making it unusable at the same time. That said, the room, bed, shower, and toilet were all very clean. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Haka house exceeded my expectations. I had a very plesant experience in a relaxed enviroment. Everything was on point , from the friendly staff , facilities, cleanliness and grounds . A of affordable accommodation.

Minus: My room was just sufficient, but not practical. And at night I had to tape cardboard on the window pane to screen from the outside electrical light, and to darken the room enough for sleep. Plus: good location, good atmosphere, good facilities.

Review for Haka House Taupo: We had 3 male staff and contractors knock and then very quickly proceed to open the door of the room we were in. This was surprising and uncomfortable as two women. They then proceeded to ask if a contractor could come on to look at the bathroom which was noted as ®being the worst by far’.
