“After having stayed at East Pier many times I was disappointed with the fact in order to view even free to air TV, one needed to know one’s logins and also for other platforms. The enjoyment of coming home after a night out, the part of climbing into bed and switching on the TV is now not an option without logging in. We also had to pay to watch Supercars and the All Blacks. Concerning also, was to see someone’s email address at the login. Privacy issues I would imagine.”

“Negatives. Property is very very tired. Gardens need a good tidy up and outdoor furniture a paint. The spa bath in our room was broken. And bathroom ceiling a few large patches of black mould with holes in vinyl floor. Where light fixtures had been replaced in bedrooms the wall was a different colour and previous screw holes visible. Fridge extremely noisy. All things I wouldn’t expect from a 4.5star rated motel. All easily fixed. Positives: Staff were very friendly, linen nice and...
