Wonderful individual cabins, well designed and furnished. Comfortable bed. Individual thermostat for each bedroom. Only slight negative was some road noise from occasional traffic during the night
Such a beautiful cabin. Clean and private. The main lodge was accessible and had games and books. Also loved the prayer/ meditation room. Such a great idea. Loved the quaint main street area with stores and great dining options. Highly recommend this property and the town of Talkeetna.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cabin by the river. It was very clean and had the basics to cook meals. There is no stove, however a hotplate is available. Each cabin has a charcoal grill, and the office will sell briquettes and lighter fluid if needed. It is not really near anything except a playground across the street, however Talkeetna is a short drive away. We really loved the wooded surroundings and river location.
Donna was a fantastic host and her home was very clean and accommodated our family well. The home is located just down the road from large grocery stores and restaurants. We enjoyed the use of the deck that we could use to watch the endless hours of sun and the kitchen had all the amenities to cook easily for the family. The living room was cozy and had plenty of seats to fit all of us comfortably. The bathrooms had shampoo, conditioner and body wash which was great as we had traveled up and down Alaska. We used the washing machines in the garage which was in a clean and bright area and easy to use. Overall everything was great and we would use her home again for our future stays. Donna’s was super sweet as well and communicated with me throughout our planning. We had a chance to meet Donna and she is so sweet and makes you immediately feel welcomed and like family. A great experience and we can’t wait to plan our next Alaska trip!
The cabin itself was lovely. We appreciated the kitchen cookware/dishes, and the bathroom toiletries. What was completely unacceptable was the horrific stench that wafted out as soon as the door was opened. We literally searched for a dead animal. We ended up going to the store and buying air freshener and a candle to burn. We were told the last renters had some sort of bloody meat in the refrigerator. There were also various stains on the carpet that looked like blood. The management offered no solution or discount on our stay. We had to have the windows open all the time which allowed plenty of mosquitoes in because there were no screens in the windows, so i am also covered in bites. We probably would have fared better in a tent somewhere. This trip was for my husband’s birthday and it really added disappointment with the two of us being so nauseated from the smell of the cabin. If you stay there, insist you do not get cabin number 5!
