Clean, compact rooms. Breakfast is included and offers western and Japanese options. Free coffee is offered in the afternoons. We arrived too early for check-in, but hotel allowed us to leave our luggage and enjoy the sights in town until the time for check in. Great location for walkable access to dining options, the train station and the port if you are planning to visit any of the islands

This hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the JR Takamatsu train station (which itself appears to be a major bus hub with both express and local buses). Maybe a 5 minute walk on from the JR station is the Kotoden Takamatsu-chikko train station for other connections. Not much further away is the ferry port which has ferries to Shodoshima, Naoshima and other places. In summary, the hotel is in an excellent location for transportation. I should mention there is another Toyoko Inn hotel slightly further away, so just be certain which one suits best. This hotel (ekimae) has very helpful staff, not all of whom speak English but will do their utmost to help. On the first (ground) floor is reception, washers and dryers, vending machines, and free coffee for most of the day. The rooms are spacious, feel fresh and modern, have well-sized mini-fridges. The rooms also have both wifi and an Ethernet cable for connectivity. The only other thing I would mention to be aware of is the shower controls - they are controlled by the sink mixer tap and I found when adjusting the water pressure (moving the tap vertically) any horizontal tap movement made the water too hot or cold. There is both an overhead shower and a hose one - like most showers I’d suggest getting the temperature right before stepping in. Overall this was my first time staying at a Toyoko Inn and I was impressed - more than happy to use this hotel and hotel chain again !

Absolutely loved staying here! It was super close to the station and staff was just wonderful. They were extremely helpful and was able to assist in finding a great place to grab lunch. Breakfast was also included so that helped get the day started. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice place, looks new. Quiet, even with room facing the road but not actual blackout curtains so it gets bright early. Good Japaneae breakfast Two negative issues- would not allow me bring my bike inside to repair and checkout was 10am (earlier than any hotel i have stayed in) Lastly, another of their hotels us very near by, verify that the taxi knows which one you booked
