  • Last night we went to a Taoist Temple in Taipei. You can see in the close up picture of people praying how they receive and answer immediately from the prayers. After kneeling and bowing, you throw two "stones" onto the floor. They are both crescent shaped with a sun and a moon side. If they end up both on one side, the answer is NO. If they end up both on the other side, the answer is maybe, or not enough information. If the end up like a ying and a yang, then the answer is YES. I took a moment to pray, asked my question and got a ying and a yang out of the throw. The belief is, that the result comes from within your own heart.

Centrally Located Property Worked Well!

The hotel was more centrally located for my needs. The staff was friendly, very helpful and attended to my needs as required. Though the neighborhood was busy, the hotel was tucked away on a lane to avoid the chaos of the streets.

A simple review, reasonable priced and nice

Quite difficult to find at 1st, but the place is located near many tourist destination. Walking distance to a night market, temple and MRT station. The room was just nice a little small but comfortable. There is also a self check in machine which is quite cool. Overall, a good choice.

Solid stay, central location

Staying with the VIP Hotel guarantees a 24h access, restricted reception time at regular business hours. Room cleaning only happens if personnel gets noticed. Rooms are not too big, but adequate not too feel squeezed-in. No breakfasts with a variety of breakfast places around and a very to be recommended Urban craft-beer pub and a medium variety, but efficient selection of other food places around. The Taipei Expo-Partymile in good walking distance, as well as a great variety of KTV and "clubs", liquor stores with top-selections in very near vicinity, even an underground 24h-Carrefour supermarket is very nearby. Good choice to stay.
