Taihape Motel.

Good little Motel but we felt a little cramped. It could do with a better armchair which was so low it was hard to get out off. Seemed like it's feer had fallen off. Bigger mugs and three, not two, would be helpful. We appreciated the ellectric blankets.

Even though the unit is dated and would benefit hugely with $ spent to upgrade them, they were clean, with all amenities supplied and helpful staff.

Basic motel, very old fashioned, but clean

If you want to go back in time, say 50 years or so, that would be the right place! Amazing, that something like this still exists. Was clean and quiet and good enough for a nights sleep without extra time in the room.

The place would need a good cleaning.. It was dated and a little rough.. linen were clean, but the room was full of electric gadgets that weren't working. There was just one working outlet for me to charge the phone. I would also love to have a lock on the door.. Luckily the other guests were nice and seemed trustworthy :) But all in all.. place was ok for one night. Thanks

There is nothing flash, but also nothing missing. Simple and uncluttered, but everything we needed including stove top for cooking. WiFi worked fine, and easy parking outside the door. The motel is back from SH1 so there is virtually no traffic noise. It is possible to hear a train when it goes through, but I think everywhere in Taihape will hear the train. We found it very convenient and would certainly stay there again.

Plenty of parking. The old house that I was in was run down and cold. The unprofessionally laid carpet was a tripping point and the doors were hard to close. Amateurish repairs were evident in many areas.

Check in was tricky. Office hours 8 to 8pm. No one there just before 8pm. With no details of room etc posted. Prepaid so would expect perhaps email details of entry. Arriving from Tauranga. Lots of road works to slow travel.

Reception handed us key with no instructions on wifi and just walked away. Had to return a couple of times to get things answered. Bathroom was dirty with lots of cobwebs and very low water pressure.

Unfortunately the kitchen curtain was missing and with a large fluro light outside we didn't get much sleep in the bed in the lounge. Also no privacy with recycling bins outside the window for people to use. Although not the motels fault, we also had to listen to loud arguing coming from another unit after midnight. On Christmas night this was all very disappointing after a long drive.
